Numinbah Correctional Centre

Numinbah Correctional Centre is a minimum/low-security open campus style correctional facility managed by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).
Set on a large rural reserve of approximately 1,800 acres in the Gold Coast hinterland, the centre provides an environment where the focus is on responsibility, reintegration and structured program involvement.

Key features & operational context

• The facility transitioned to housing a predominantly female inmate population, and now supports women serving sentences or on remand who are eligible for low-security placement.
• It runs farm-based work, vocational education, addiction recovery and parenting programs designed to assist inmates to prepare for release into the community.
• Visitors: Bookings are required for visits (Phone: (07) 5533 4131) and visiting hours are indicated (Saturday and Sunday mornings).
